Lycoming College from the US will be visiting on Friday to offer the following workshop:
A Story to Remember: Crafting a Memorable College Entrance Essay for our JC1.
Two professors (see their bios below) from Lycoming College will conduct a dynamic workshop to help students craft a memorable college entrance essay. SIS-PIK students will have the opportunity to discuss and explore the best ways to present themselves to a college admissions committee. The workshops, will be conducted in a small-class environment and will encourage students to actively participate in writing exercises and classroom discussion without fear of judgement.
Dr. Sascha Feinstein is a Distinguished Professor of English at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he has taught since 1995 and earned both Junior and Senior teaching awards. His twelve books include two memoirs, two collections of poetry, and several critical studies. His many awards and honors include the Pennsylvania Governor’s Award for Artist of the Year. He regularly gives lectures and readings throughout the United States and around the world. In 1996, he founded Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz & Literature, which he still edits. Mrs Marleni Feinstein is the Special Assistant to the President for International Initiatives. In addition to recruitment, Mrs Feinstein teaches Freshman Composition for International students each Fall semester. As the International Student Advisor, Mrs Feinstein maintains consistent contact with all international students throughout their tenure at Lycoming College, ensuring their well-being and success on campus.
