NATURE EDUCATION IN PRESCHOOL

This week N2 explored the world of insects. Children are naturally curious about their worlds and enjoy exploring their surroundings. Because of their inquiry minds, children are eager to “why things are the way they are” and will ask many questions about their immediate environment. A favourite project was to ask the children to find insects outside their house and then group and classify them. Children need time to experience, explore, and process information in order to get beyond surface-level understanding. To reinforce the learning, teachers gave many stimulations and opportunities to trigger the curiosity of students by giving provocative questions, showing videos and even making creative models of insects. Creativity is intelligence having fun!
