THE IMPORTANCE OF READING DAILY 

Please encourage your child to listen or read great stories every day. When children listen to great stories, they’re exposed to new vocabulary, grammar, expression, and fluency.

As children are reading, they are given the opportunity and time to wonder. When we wonder about what we read, we ask questions about the text, about ourselves, and about the world. Parents, as you are reading to your child at home start asking questions such as: 

• What is the story about? 
• How did the story make you feel? 
• What did the story make you think of? 
• What is the character thinking?
