SISWA CARES FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

The year 2020 has started to a rough start as heavy rain caused devastating floods to strike in several areas in Jakarta and its surroundings. A few areas are still submerged in flood water and there are flood victims who are in shortage of food, medicine and other daily needs.

During 6 – 11 January 2020, our SISwa Cares community worked alongside @seasoldier_  to open a platform for donations for physical goods or money for the flood victims. These generous donations will be channeled towards the areas that are worst affected by the flood.

As per 11 January 2020, below are the donations we received from donors around North Jakarta including parents and students of SIS-PIK.

All of these goods have been delivered to Sea Soldier warehouse in Pasar Minggu on Saturday morning, 11 January 2020. All the donations from around Jakarta were to be collected here, then from there will be delivered to areas in need.

During 12 – 18 January 2020, we received baby clothes, adults clothes and medicines from donors.

Aside from that, we also received monetary donations for amount of IDR 4,600,000 as of 18 January 2020. All will be given to Sea Soldier foundation to help purchase basic needs for the victims.

All the new donations we received during 12 – 18 January 2020 (both goods and monetary) will be delivered or transferred within this week.

Thank you for all of the donations given to help the flood victims around Jakarta.
