NEWS FROM SECONDARY & JC
SIS PEAK Week
We have had a truly exceptional week in Secondary as part of our SIS PEAK programme of activities and events. We know that to gain access to the best-fit universities and dream careers, our students require not only knowledge and skills, but clear and honest guidance regarding the range of options available to help them reach their goals. We took great pleasure in watching our Secondary 4 students debate their futures this week and question the different range of pathways open to them as they prepare for Senior High school next year. Students took part in information sessions to discover the unique combinations of IB and BTEC programmes we offer here at SIS-PIK as well engaging in a wide range of reflective activities to help develop the skills that will make them successful. They even had the opportunity to experience a workshop from the University of Cambridge. We encourage all of our Secondary 4 students to continue discussing their future choices and understand that we are here every step of the way to help guide them towards the right programmes to achieve their ambitions.
Our students in Secondary 1, 2 and 3 took part in an innovative and bespoke Artificial Intelligence programme developed by our teachers who are skilled in computational and design thinking. Students explored AI problem solving topics including the development of algorithms, machine learning and user design, and explored the ethical questions surrounding Artificial Intelligence. It was remarkable to see the resilience of our students when faced with new and challenging situations, their reciprocity as they supported each other in collaborative projects and their resourcefulness when working on solutions. This was a really unique experience, marking an exciting end to a term of hard work and commitment.
