DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,

Since my last diary, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with many parents and discussing their children’s educational journey at SIS-PIK. Sharing our excitement of childrens’ potential and discussing options from subject choices to university aspirations is one of the most rewarding things about my job. Teachers enter the profession with a passion for helping students to reach their full potential. As I’ve met with Grades 6 and 10 parents to talk about the next important steps, I’ve been able to communicate the SIS-PIK vision: providing a world-class education, and a progressive, innovative and broad curriculum which can allow every child to reach the very top. This is the SIS PEAK Advantage we offer, and it is heartening to hear from the children who have benefited. Just last week, I heard from a student nicely settled in university having graduated from our Junior College last year and, whilst two other former students visited the school, I took part in a video call with one alumnus currently training as a chef at a top culinary school in New York. I never cease to be inspired by the success of our former students.

It is currently Semester Assessment time and students are working very hard to show off all they have learned over the past two terms. Our Preschoolers, however, have had the chance to (virtually) fly planes and cook pizzas through a programme of fun virtual field trips. Experiential learning is at the heart of our educational philosophy and it was a delight to see the children enjoying themselves so much.
