SECONDARY AND JC LEARNING JOURNEYS

Secondary 1-3
The Secondary 1-3 are having their Character Building Camp from 25th to 27th September in Ciawi, Bogor. The focus of this program is to teach students to be grateful and be resilient. Here, students are given tasks that are fun yet challenging to sharpen their communication skills and great bonding.

In the evening, students have the opportunity to dig deep within their hearts and minds to reflect on what they have been given and how lucky they are to be here at SIS-PIK as students.

Secondary 4
This year’s Sec 4 Learning Journey took students to Lombok. On the first day after arriving, Sec 4 students and teachers headed to Kila Senggigi Beach Lombok Hotel and had Team Building activities. The purpose of this activity is to build togetherness, friendship, and teamwork.

On the second day, they went island hopping for snorkeling to see the beauty of underwater life. They also visited Autore to watch the process of pearls cultivation. Later at night, they had barbecue dinner in the hotel while enjoying the beach at night.

On the third day, we visited villages like Banyumelek and Sukarare to see and learn local handcrafting such as pottery and woven fabric. Third day activities closed by having beach cleaning activity in Tanjung Aan beach.

Junior College 1-2
From 25th to 27th of September, the JC 1 and 2 students embarked on a self-reflective journey to Caldera Citarik at Sukabumi. Here, students had the opportunity to move away from their usual learning environment to engage in team games to build on their collaborative and cooperation skills.

During the evenings, our students had college essay writing workshops by the fabulous Mr Norman (English HOD) and Mr Gabriel (EE Coordinator), where they learnt to use their life experiences and challenges to build a good college essay, that would stand them in good stead for university entrance.

Our JC learning journey ended on a high, with exciting paintball battle and a flying fox experience across the river. Students also had a chance to visit a local home industry, before heading back to Jakarta.
