Virtual Learning Journeys
Learning at SIS-PIK is never confined to the classroom. It is important that our students explore the world outside to understand how things work in real life and be given the opportunity to interact with places and people. Despite the pandemic, our teachers have organised virtual learning journeys for our students.
Last week, our students visited the San Diego Zoo and its various exhibits, went diving underwater to the coral reefs of the Dominican Republic, and explored energy plants all around the world. We also injected interdisciplinary learning. Thus, throughout each stage of the learning journey, our students were involved in answering questions, creating crafts and charts and being engaged in wholesome discussions.
Through these interactive learning journeys, our students go through varied experiences. Not only did they get to connect with actual scientists involved in energy production, animal and coral reef conservation, they are able to think critically on what impact humans have on the world’s ecosystems.
