VIRTUAL LEARNING IN SECONDARY/JC
Global Perspective classes are taught by Mr Shawn Auchterlonie and Ms Maria Pasive. GP lessons are often different from traditional subjects and “outside of the box” thinking is encouraged. Students explore many different global issues and from different perspectives. Students will construct and develop valuable skills such as analytical thinking, evaluating, effective researching and strategic communication.
In term one, Sec 3 students are learning about population pyramids and the demographic transition model. Students are currently predicting the impact Covid-19 will have on Indonesia’s economic demographics. Sec 2 students have just finished their unit on “Belief Systems”. Students analyzed the adverse belief systems within real-world conflicts. Next, they will explore the tools of tolerance and peace within coexisting belief systems. Lastly, our wonderful Sec 1 students are learning how to conduct academic research within the context of human characteristics. Students created presentations and digital infographics to display their research.
