LOWER PRIMARY FIELD TRIPS
Primary 1
Going on a field trip provides an opportunity for students to be immersed in a unique cultural learning experience. It is a valuable learning process that broadens the students’ understanding of the world and their place in it. Within this framework, SIS-PIK Primary 1 students went to Godong Ijo last Friday, 20th September 2019. Students were so excited. The bus was filled with students’ laughter and chatter along the way. They had various exciting activities such as painting turtle on ceramic tile, decorating the pencil holder made of bamboo, feeding the Koi fish, the rabbits and the turtles, bathing the big turtles, feeding and meeting ‘Rosie’ the ostrich, watering the plants, meeting some forest animals and playing some traditional games. For the children the highlight of the day was riding the ‘delman’. It was indeed an awesome learning journey for the P1 students.
Primary 2
SIS-PIK Primary 2 students went to a Field Trip to the Doll Factory in Cileungsi on the 20th of September 2019. It was a valuable learning experience as students observed first hand how dolls are made from start to finish. The students were actively engaged during the explanation of the process involved in making the dolls especially when it was time to make their own doll.
Students had the opportunity to see new things and learn about them in an unstructured way as they toured around the factory. The best part of the tour was when they went into the showroom and students played around. At the end of their stay, the students bought dolls and souvenirs.
All in all, the SIS-PIK Primary 2 field trip provided every student with real-world experiences and connection to what is happening in the school and the outside world.
Primary 3
CIMORY, HERE WE COME!
We end our term by having a wonderful and exciting activity we call “Field Trip”. Our trip this beginning year is having lots of fun in Cimory. We had lots of experiences and got closer to nature to see lots of animals that we always wonder. We watched the videos about the advantages of drinking milk everyday, milked and fed the cows, saw some sea animals in “Monster Aquarium” and learnt how to make milkshake. We guess, there is no better way to end our term rather than this.
