LAPTOP PROGRAM FOR P6 FOR NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR

Next year, we will continue on a very exciting journey into technology for our new P6s. Our world is changing rapidly. New discoveries, inventions and algorithms continue to take society in new directions. Students who are not fully immersed in the technological revolution will be ill equipped to handle the future world. We hope our technology integration program will help fill that gap.

As we implement the one to one laptop program into P6, your child will be immersed into a world of technology. Teachers will be using the laptops as a pedagogical tool to improve learning. Apple has developed incredible tools that help students learn. Through Photo Booth, students can record themselves speaking Chinese. By listening to the teacher, and comparing it to their own recording, students can improve their pronunciation. Through iMovie, students can record explosions from science experiments, and replay the experiment through slow motion, and thereby observe scientific principles in action. Through GarageBand, students can summarize a story, and annotate it with their own pictures. The possibilities for improving learning are endless.

The Apple MacBook Air is the only computer on the market that offers these very versatile and effective tools. P6 students will be able to  develop the skills to use Photo Booth, iMovie, GarageBand and so much more.

It is our belief that Mac offers by far the best educational product on the market. To create the very best IT program we can, we ask all parents to provide a MacBook Air for their child. Hence for semester 2 next year, it will be mandatory for all P6s to bring a MacBook Air to school. Thank you for your support.
