SECONDARY AND JC VIRTUAL LEARNER OF THE TERM
At SIS-PIK we believe that to be successful in the future, students must become confident independent learners and strive to really take ownership of their own learning. Therefore, we award a ‘Virtual Learner of the Term’ to one student in every homeroom that recognises our 4 key independent learning skills: Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness, Resilience and Reciprocity. The more students are able to:
- Use a variety of resources, and know where to find information;
- Think about their strengths and areas of difficulty and how to improve;
- Keep on going even when things are difficult;
- Work together with their peers and their teachers to progress;
the more effective they are as learners.
All teachers nominate students in each homeroom who they feel have demonstrated these skills best. The student who is considered to have displayed these skills most this term is given the ‘Virtual Learner of the Term’ award. Here are the names of our Virtual Learners of Term 1:
