Good Hygiene Habits
Last week, K1 students enjoyed learning about personal good hygiene habits in their virtual class. A healthy hygiene routine is one of the many good habits that we should teach our children. Teaching good habits from a young age will leave an impact for a long time.
During our lesson, students had a fabulous time exploring and discovering some important good personal hygiene habits. Basic hygiene routines were introduced in the class. Such routines include the proper way of washing hands using water and soap, brushing of teeth at least twice a day, bathing and washing hair regularly, wearing clean and tidy clothes daily, covering the mouth with a piece of tissue or handkerchief while coughing and sneezing and keeping nails clean.
To broaden and make the lesson more engaging and exciting, students demonstrated the proper way of “handwashing”. The students sprinkled glitter on their hands and rubbed their hands together to spread the glitter all over. Then, students tried to wash it all off using soap and water for about 20-30 seconds. They also made crafts based on the theme “Good Hygiene Habits”. Through these hands-on activities, students were able to establish the importance of good hygiene.
