HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
Subject Showcase: Business and Enterprise
The SIS-PIK High School curriculum is a well-rounded offer of academic and non-academic opportunities designed to ensure all of our students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their full potential. This year we have enhanced our curriculum even further to increase the opportunities our students have to develop entrepreneurship. We have been delighted to welcome Ms Debbie to lead our new faculty of Business and Enterprise (see the Community Updates from July 29th) and introduce a new Enterprise curriculum for all Grade 7 and 8 students.
Our SIS-PIK Enterprise curriculum continues from Grade 7 until Grade 12 through our wide range of business related qualifications and experiences.
This unique programme of learning ensures students graduate from our high school who can:
- develop an understanding of business environment perspectives
- evaluate risks and opportunities
- embed values and ethics in business practice
- translate theory into practice
- apply interdisciplinary knowledge and skills
- promote creativity and innovation
- think critically
- appreciate local and global contexts
- foster community engagement
- understand business and entrepreneurial knowledge and values to be career and future ready
Whilst subject to ongoing change, an overview of our Business and Enterprise curriculum from Grades 7 – 12 can be found HERE.
During our SIS-PIK EXPO at Emporium Pluit Mall, some of our Grade 8 Enterprise students took part in a mock ‘Shark Tank’ activity, pitching their business proposals to a team of acting investors. We were very proud of their participation in this event.
