DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,

I am thrilled to share with you the remarkable accomplishments and events that have unfolded at our school during the first six weeks of this academic year. As we continue our journey Towards Greater Heights, our dedicated staff engaged in a week of Professional Development before term began, reinforcing our commitment to lifelong learning and staying at the forefront of the latest pedagogy. This spirit is a cornerstone of our exceptional teaching team, exemplifying our school motto.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome 16 new teachers who have joined our ranks, bringing fresh perspectives and expertise to our community. In this edition of the Community Showcase, we spotlight the Directors of our two new major departments – Sports and Performing & Creative Arts. Their vision promises to elevate our students’ experiences to new dimensions.

During the break, we celebrated the Grade 12 Graduation ceremony and received the IB results, a testament to our students’ hard work and dedication. You can find more details of this heartwarming celebration in the current edition of the Showcase.

In the early weeks of the term, I had the privilege of visiting classes from Nursery 1 to IB English A in Grade 12. The energy, curiosity, and engagement in every classroom were truly inspiring.

Leadership has flourished throughout the term. Adnan Than and his Grade 12 peers established their own enterprise in the canteen, applying lessons from Economics and Business studies. Meanwhile, Grade 11 BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship students are gearing up to launch a second branch of this venture on the 6th Floor’s Think Tank Cafe. In line with our commitment to nurturing leadership skills, our students also benefited from a three-day workshop led by students from Harvard University in August. On what is probably our most prestigious date in our calendar, the Grade 12 students led the Independence Day celebration with grace and sincerity, exemplifying the values we hold dear.

In just 6 weeks, so much has happened, and I’m proud to share with you our key moments in this edition of the Community Showcase. Thank you for your unwavering support in fostering a vibrant and enriching educational environment for our students.
