WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Our SIS-PIK scholars have returned victorious! From 29 October – 9 November, our students travelled to Yale University to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions. This is the final round of the 2023 season, and only the ‘best of the best’ are invited to compete in debate, writing, and knowledge.
After arriving in New York City, our scholars learnt how our world is more interconnected than we think with our tour of the United Nations, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. On our way to the competition in New Haven, scholars envisioned their possible futures at NYU and Columbia University. During the competition, our scholars also had the opportunity to visit Harvard and MIT in Boston, MA.
For all their hard work in debate, writing, and knowledge tests, our fourteen scholars brought home 3 trophies, 60 gold medals, and 30 silver medals, and several alpacas!
Our trophy winners:
- Nicole Johnson Usman – Champion Scholar #14 in the world!
