SIS-PIK COMMUNITY SHOWCASE
February 2024

WELLBEING WEEK

The Preschool and Primary departments celebrated Wellbeing Week with various activities from 5th-7th February. The Primary team had the following line of activities: on Monday, there was mindfulness and meditation; Tuesday featured physical activity during homeroom time, and; on Wellness Wednesday, students brought healthy snacks, emphasising fruits and vegetables. They also engaged in a morning routine of exercise.

For the Preschool team, they had Mindful Music Monday where the little ones engaged in calming musical and art activities. On Tasty Tuesday, they filled in their tummies with healthy snacks and drinks, then followed by Wellness Wednesday, where nature-based wellness activities were conducted outdoors.

Students also made the day colourful by wearing free dress on Wednesday and contributing IDR 30,000 to the YSPB for their community projects, while the Preschool and Primary teachers joined in with a potluck and a raffle draw to conclude the day.

As we immersed ourselves in Wellbeing Week and Spirit Week from 5th-7th February, the High School organised a series of engaging events designed to promote kindness, creativity, and a strong sense of community.

Monday, 5th February – Kindness Day
On this special day, we invited students to participate in acts of kindness that can have a positive impact throughout our school. Whether it was bringing a small gift for a friend or parent, sharing a smile with a peer or staff member, sitting with someone new at lunch, or giving a heartfelt compliment, everyone came together to cultivate a culture of kindness and support.

Tuesday, 6th February – TikTok Day
Tuesday was dedicated to unleashing the creativity of our student body through TikTok. Each class was encouraged to create a wellness-related TikTok video, providing a platform for students to showcase their unique perspectives and creative talents.

Lunchtime karaoke:
In addition, students embraced their inner pop stars at lunchtime with Canteen Karaoke. As an incentive, all participants would be rewarded with a slice of pizza, adding a tasty twist to our celebration. The atmosphere was amazing and all were feeling the joy and enthusiasm in the canteen.

Wednesday, 7th February – Free Dress Day
Wednesday was Free Dress Day, in support of our charity, YSPB. Students were encouraged to express their individuality by wearing clothes that reflect their personality. Proceeds from this event will be used to fund a trip for children who are cancer survivors, aligning our Spirit Week with a meaningful cause. We were delighted to see so many students coming together to support this initiative and make a positive difference in the lives of those who really need it.
