Celebrating Innovation and Sustainability: Highlights from the 2024 STEAM Exhibition
On March 2, 2024, SIS-PIK buzzed with excitement as students, teachers, and parents convened for the annual STEAM Exhibition. The event showcased the school community’s talent and innovation, emphasising the importance of STEAM education and sustainability.
From Preschool art displays to Primary School robotics, the exhibition offered diverse experiences for all attendees. In the Art Jam activity, students crafted imaginative pieces from recycled materials, highlighting themes like ‘Life on Land’ and ‘Clean Water and Sanitation’.
The Young Inventors Awards challenged students to address real-world problems aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals, resulting in innovative projects ranging from water conservation comics to recycled infrastructure sculptures.
In the Project Work segment, student groups explored sustainability issues and proposed solutions. Through research, prototypes, and presentations, they demonstrated the interdisciplinary nature of STEAM education and the power of collaboration.
The Robotics Exhibit showcased robots designed to enhance urban living, focusing on areas like traffic management and environmental monitoring. These creations exemplified the potential of technology to drive sustainability and efficiency in smart cities.
Through this event, SIS-PIK reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing future innovators and global citizens, empowering students to create a more sustainable future for all.
Preschool
At the STEAM festival, the Preschoolers proudly presented their fascinating projects! The Nursery class brought a lively beehive display, showcasing the importance of recycling. Kindergarten 1 delighted visitors with their enchanting terrariums, offering insights into the wonders of plant life. Meanwhile, Kindergarten 2 amazed everyone with a fully functional water filter, demonstrating the significance of clean water. Additionally, the little ones eagerly explored the exhibits in the Primary School, soaking up more knowledge about STEAM subjects. It was a joyous day filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration for all involved!
