THE WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP JAKARTA ROUND
Congratulations to all of our scholars who participated in the World Scholar’s Cup! From May 11-13, thirty-nine SIS-PIK students competed in four events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, the Scholar’s Challenge, and the Scholar’s Bowl. They tackled thought-provoking topics, delving into global issues, literature, history, and science, all while expanding their knowledge and honing their academic acumen. Our Juniors competed against over 1,000 scholars from schools across Jakarta, while our Seniors competed against over 700 scholars!
Our 13 teams earned a total of 71 silver medals, and 61 gold medals! We are incredibly proud of every single one of these achievements, and here are some of the greatest highlights:
Sylvester Octaviano Goana – #1 Asimov Award
Enrica Tanuwidjaja – #3 Debate Champion, #16 Individual Writing
Steve Austin Alfredo – #5 Cria Scholar (The youngest scholars joining the Junior Division)
Nicole Johnson Usman – #6 “BarelySenior” Scholar (Junior-age scholars competing in the Senior Division)
Fiona Widjaja is the Top Senior Scholar from SIS-PIK, while Travis Ainsley Wilvicious is our Top Junior Scholar.
All of our scholars qualified for the Global Round, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand between 30th August to 4th September. These achievements are proof of our scholar’s hard work and passion for learning. As a school community, let us continue to support and encourage these young scholars as they now prepare to compete in the Global Round.
