SIS-PIK COMMUNITY SHOWCASE
 June 2025

DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,

This edition of our Community Showcase captures so many of the moments that have made SIS-PIK special since we returned from term break – and I’d like to take a moment to highlight just a few that stood out for me.

World Book Day was a real highlight – from the creative costumes in Preschool and Primary, inspired by students’ favourite reads, to a full day of High School activities centred around literature. In a world of fast-moving distractions, celebrating the power of reading feels more important than ever.

Kartini Day brought thoughtful reflections on equality and education – especially powerful in a school setting. Our Grade 12 Graduation was a moving reminder of how far our students have come, and how ready they are to take the next steps toward university and beyond.

I also thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of our Preschool and Primary mothers at the delightful Mother’s Day Tea – a simple yet heartfelt occasion that celebrated the warmth of our school community. At the other end of the Primary journey, it was heartwarming to see our youngest learners bravely take their first steps toward “big school” during the Transition Morning.

And across all grades, I’ve been proud to watch our students give their best in the Semester Assessments – from eager Grade 1s to reflective Grade 11s, showing the depth of their learning across the year.

You’ll find many of these moments captured in more detail throughout this Showcase. As we head into the term break, I wish all our families a restful and happy holiday. I look forward to welcoming returning students on Monday 28th July, as we start a new and exciting academic year together.

All best wishes,

Dr Dan
