PRIMARY FIELD TRIPS

Our Primary were very lucky to enjoy some amazing field trips last Friday, 1st February.

The first graders visited the educational recreation theme park in Taman Mini Skyworld Indonesia. The students experienced a one-day virtual exploration of space. They enjoyed various space themed attractions which included miniature rockets and a variety of exhibits. They also took pictures in an astronaut space suit and had a thrilling experience at the 5D cinema. The students were also mesmerized with the spectacular digital planetarium. This was an excellent edutainment experience for kids and teachers alike.

P2 went to Cileungsi doll factory. Students first watched a movie on doll making and were then given a private tour of the factory. They observed the whole process from the raw materials, to design, and the material cutting and stitching process. Finally, the students saw workers create the eyes and nose, and saw the painting process. They also enjoyed a Hoka Hoka Bento lunch and afterwards they stuffed their own dolls and kept them as a souvenir.

The P3 students went to Cimory which is a place where students learned the process of extracting, processing, and preparing milk and its byproducts to become a variety of foods and beverages. Students were greeted with a sweet cup of strawberry milk upon arrival. Then students strolled through a nature walk to the mini zoo and even visited a cow barn where they learned about and participated in the cow milking process and they even fed the cows. Last students visited the monster aquarium and watched a documentary movie about Cimory and Chocomory history.

Primary 4 students went to Pusat Peragaan IPTEK (Indonesia Science Centre), a large educational science and technology museum. Students were learning as they were being entertained. They watched an informative video about tsunamis. They participated in different hands-on activities which focused on electricity, sound waves, light, and air pressure. They also experienced a magnitude 10 earthquake simulation!

P5 visited Camp Hulu Cai, Cibedug Ciawi Bogor. Students were welcomed by the breathtaking scenery and they had fun exploring nature. They learned to appreciate natural resources. They saw the making of the ‘Wayang’ from cassava leaves and they painted a fan out of coconut leaves. They also trekked along a plantation while they learned the proper way to plant and harvest cassavas. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the day was when students discovered the value of teamwork during the labyrinth game.

The P6 students went to Citra Alam, Tangerang for a fun filled day packed with educational team building experiences. The students were also able to experience the wonderful art of batik-making from start to finish. The students then had a unique hands-on opportunity to participate in t-shirt painting. The most interesting part was perhaps witnessing the wonderful art of the ceramic making process.
