MOUNTAIN DAY
By: Karen Lee Sardjono, Grade 11
At the end of each semester, our school holds an event we like to call Mountain Day. The point of this event is to empower our student body and foster a competitive spirit in our school, especially among the houses. During this time, the Student Council orchestrates a series of activities and mini competitions that all members from each house participate in.
The Student Council works together with our school’s leaders to design an event that everyone, no matter their interests or skills, can be involved in. By this we mean that we’ve got all sorts of activities, spanning from sports such as volleyball all the way to funny activities like musical chairs. Our personal favourite activity during Mountain Day has got to be the water balloon fight. Of course, we’d never pass up on an opportunity to throw a bunch of water balloons at each other!
This is exactly what makes Mountain Day so much fun – getting to participate in a bunch of activities with all our peers at school!
