PRIMARY PREFECT TRAINING
Thirty-four enthusiastic young leaders participated in the Prefect Leadership Training on January 20, 2024. The theme, ‘Be yourself, Lead, Think, and Act Together,’ set the tone for a fun-filled day packed with diverse activities. Prefects and teachers kicked off the day with a mass workout, followed by a game, where prefects formed various groups.
Following a welcome address, a talk on introduction to leadership shed light on the true meaning of leadership. Students now understand the essential qualities a good leader should possess, such as being a good listener, maintaining a positive outlook, and presenting oneself neatly as a role model. Divided into four groups, students collaborated on various games, including the leadership-value-tree, each part representing values such as roots for faith, trunk for discipline, branches for teamwork, leaves for creativity and fruits for joy. Each student drew their value tree and presented it to the group.
As the group games unfolded, the day became even more enjoyable. Each game instilled values, and each team shared their insights gained during the tasks. Students not only acquired different strategies to solve each challenge, but also witnessed exceptional leaders emerging.
The Glori Adventure team, including the teachers Mr Abdul, Ms Benilda, Ms Tiwi and Mr Jonathan, has been instrumental in ensuring the success and enjoyment of the students through the design and delivery of a diverse range of activities. Their efforts have significantly enhanced the memorable experience of the prefects’ training.
