PREFECT INVESTITURE

Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek

Monday the 15th January marked a pivotal moment in the SIS-PIK community, as the Prefect Investiture Ceremony was held. It was a day for the school to pay gratitude to the outgoing Prefect Cohort and welcome the new batch of Prefects. The ceremony signified the passing of the torch, reflecting on the ongoing commitment to student leadership and responsibility while preserving the legacy that the past prefects had set.

As the new batch of prefects stood before the SIS-PIK community, hands were raised with commitment as each prefect solemnly swore to take on their responsibilities with integrity, resilience, and respect for the school’s values. The oath signified that the journey had just begun, one with a long road ahead.

The ceremony was undoubtedly memorable, filled with countless moments that left a lasting impression on the SIS-PIK community. One of the most symbolic highlights was the lighting of the torch ceremony, where each and every prefect stood proudly, holding a candle as the flame was carefully passed from one to another, contributing to the central torch. This emphasised the importance of teamwork, unity, and responsibility within the community. The passing of the flame highlighted that leadership is not an individual journey but one built on collaboration, trust, and shared purpose, just like the purpose of the prefects.
