WORLD BOOK DAY
Preschool and Primary
Our Preschoolers had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! Dressed as their favourite book characters, the children proudly joined a joyful school parade, showing off their creative costumes with big smiles and excitement. The celebration continued with a special storytelling session led by our talented Grade 6 students. The little ones listened eagerly as the older students brought stories to life with expression and enthusiasm. To end the day, each preschooler created their own book titled “AllAboutMyself,” a fun and meaningful way to celebrate reading and self-expression. It was a day full of imagination, learning, and joyful memories!

In Primary, the day commenced with a vibrant character parade, where students donned costumes of their favourite literary figures, bringing beloved stories to life through their creative attire. Following the parade, Grade 6 students took the lead in storytelling sessions for the Preschool and other Primary classes. These sessions allowed older students to share their passion for reading. The festivities concluded with a creative bookmark-making activity. Overall, the day’s events successfully cultivated a vibrant reading culture within our school.

High School
The High School celebrated World Book Day throughout the day in small but enjoyable activities. The day began with all homeroom classes engaged simultaneously in an online book quiz, the questions for which ranged from trivia to serious literary knowledge. Throughout the day, all subject teachers also took time out to share their love for books in various ways: these included taking time out to share a quotable quotes moment from their favourite book, reading passages from these books and highlighting the unique ways in which writers used language in these works. Lunchtime proved to be a moment of organised chaos for Grade 7 classes who ran around like mad hatters locating books in the high school library based on selected factors including themes, genres, authors and character types. The day proved to be a significant reminder of the parts that books play in our lives, and why they continue to bring so much joy to the latter.
