DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,
I find it hard to believe we are coming to the end of another school year at SIS-PIK. The Community Showcase celebrates the many wonderful achievements and activities that have occurred in school over the past few weeks, and there have yet again been so many. My diary has been packed, with the Grade 12 Graduation ceremony being a particular highlight.
Most of our current Grade 12s were in Grade 8 (or Sec 2 as we then called it) back in 2019 when I first started at SIS-PIK. I had the pleasure of teaching them all Performing Arts, and I have had the privilege of watching them grow into fine young people in the following 5 years. I am so proud of all of their achievements, whether academic, sporting, social or charitable. Most have secured their first choice university places, and all are leaving SIS-PIK more inquisitive, global-minded, resilient and confident.
Other successes included the Model United Nations meeting in Bandung, where our burgeoning group of young High Schoolers grew further in confidence, despite competing against much older participants. I look forward to their future success! The WSC regional round was another very successful event for our oldest Primary students and many of High School. Every single SIS-PIK student who entered secured a place in the Global round in Bangkok in August/September, and we have our fingers crossed that they’ll reach the Tournament of Champions at Yale in November.
From the success of the oldest, to the development of some of our youngest students. The K2 to Grade 1 transition morning was delightful as so many families joined us on a Saturday to find out more about how life will change for our little scholars as they move into Primary.
There have been so many more events to highlight, and I hope you enjoy reliving them through this edition of the Community Showcase as much as I have enjoyed attending them.
Very best wishes,
Dr Dan
