DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,
It has been a very busy month since I last wrote my diary for you, and I’m so happy to share some of the highlights of the last few weeks.
I’m always impressed by the studious nature of your children. With some very few exceptions(!), our students always seem keen to achieve, and consistently try their best. So it is always wonderful to see them at play – and Halloween was a great example of this. During the day I saw the Preschool and Primary children all dressed up, dancing and enjoying the festivities, and in the evening the High School students were busy on their food and games stalls, having a spooky fashion parade and creating a spectacularly scary haunted house – I say this from experience, I had many shocks along with the other teachers who dared to enter the haunted house!
Our Grade 7 students undertook their iPSLE examinations, and whatever their results, I am so proud of all of them. To take written exams for the first time in so long, with literally years away from campus is a testament to their grit and determination.
As I write this, the corridors of High School are silent as students sit for their SAs. I look forward to the last week of term when they will all be back in force, reflecting on what went well, and considering how to get even better. The learning journey for Primary will be an absolute treat, and our House Day – aptly held on International Mountain Day – will see performances, games and battles. It will be a lovely end to the term.
I shall write to all of you at the end of term to wish you a happy holiday season, but in the meanwhile I wish you a healthy and happy December.
Dr Dan
