GRADE 6 INTO 7 IMMERSION

The transition from Primary Grade 6 to High School Grade 7 is a significant change for students as they face new expectations, new teachers and new learning environments. As an all-through school, at SIS-PIK we ensure that this move to the next phase of learning is a smooth, exciting process. To support this transition, from Monday 31st October to Thursday 3rd November, our Grade 6 students took part in a High School Immersion programme. Following an initial ‘Welcome to High School’ workshop, they experienced Grade 7 lessons in a wide range of subjects. Lessons included familiar subjects, such as Mathematics, English, Chinese, Science, Bahasa Indonesia in addition to experiencing new classes such as Global Perspectives, Life Skills and our unique SIS-PIK Business and Enterprise curriculum. Our Grade 6 students were so excited and contributed so positively in lessons that, not only did they have a great experience, our High School teachers also had a wonderful time getting to know their new 2023-2024 Grade 7 group of students.

Some students will naturally be more anxious about the transition to High School than others.
