ENTERPRISE WEEK
SIS-PIK’s Enterprise Week, held from November 13th to 17th, 2023, was a captivating journey for students in Grades 7 to 11, brimming with joy and entrepreneurial learning. The week kicked off with an exhilarating opening ceremony on the first day, featuring a Shark Tank-style pitching session. Students had the unique opportunity to present their business ideas in front of a distinguished panel of judges, including the Think Tank manager, and insightful guest speakers eager to share their business acumen. This session not only honed their pitching skills but also provided invaluable feedback and real-world insights into the intricacies of running a business.
The second day delved into the realm of capital markets, where Grade 10 and 11 Economics students immersed themselves in the dynamics of the stock market. Learning from successful SIS-PIK alumni with a decade of trading experience added a practical and enriching dimension to their understanding of economics and finance.
Day three focused on cultivating essential networking skills for students in Grades 7, 8, and 11. They learnt the art of proper networking in business settings, emphasising the significance of body language and formal communication methods to build a robust professional network.
The fourth day saw Grade 9 Economics students engaging in a hands-on session on designing a business setup using the Lean Canvas methodology by Eric Thies. This practical approach equipped them with the skills to create effective and efficient business models.
The Enterprise Week concluded on a socially responsible note, with business students in Grades 9 and 10 undertaking a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative around the school premises. This not only showcased their commitment to community welfare but also ensured alignment with SIS-PIK’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and institutional regulations. Overall, the week was a harmonious blend of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and ethical business practices, leaving a lasting impact on students’ entrepreneurial journey.
