SIS-PIK 20th ANNIVERSARY GALA EVENING
On Saturday, November 2nd, SIS-PIK marked its 20th Anniversary Gala with an unforgettable evening of celebration, reflection, and community spirit. The event showcased the incredible talent of our students, from Bruce Liono (Grade 4) and David Kokanda (Grade 11) dazzling on the piano—David with his own remarkable composition—to heartfelt vocal performances by Gwyneth So and Hyori Dermawan, and a stunning Guzheng recital by Han Yichen. The cast of Seussical the Musical brought vibrant energy, setting the stage for the grand premiere of SIS-PIK: 20 Years Towards Greater Heights, a moving documentary directed by our IB Film teacher, Mr Valantis. Adding a deeply personal touch, video messages from our first Principal, Ms Nanda Bandara, and past students and staff rekindled cherished memories. The evening closed with the staff choir delivering the poignant Just a Single Voice, leaving the audience in awe.
Speeches by Mr Jaspal on behalf of the Board of Governors and Dr Dan highlighted SIS-PIK’s journey and aspirations for the future. Guests enjoyed a delightful buffet and explored a beautifully curated history wall showcasing milestones from the past two decades. This gala evening truly celebrated the essence of SIS-PIK—a community united in excellence, creativity, and a shared commitment to achieving even greater heights. Here’s to the next 20 years!
Also on the evening, our school charity YSPB presented their exciting and important upcoming project to build a Block School to help children in Kupang have a more stable and resource filled education. As part of the fundraising was a charity art auction. Pictured here is a very proud artist, Jocelyn Sulystio Grade 8A, whose artwork was the first to be sold, for an amazing price of 1,000,000 IDR! Congratulations to all the artists, we are very proud of you!
