Andres Ordono Agarpao (Mr Andy) – Primary School Maths and Drama Teacher
Greetings everyone! I am Mr Andres Agarpao, originally from the Philippines. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Louis College, Philippines. I have been working as a teacher for over 30 years – in the Philippines, China (Mainland and Macau), Myanmar and Indonesia – teaching Mathematics and other subjects to all Primary levels.
I was drawn to education because of my love and care for children. It’s been an honour these past 34 years teaching and growing the minds of young people. I feel I have made a positive difference in the world. It begins with a belief in children.
I taught at SIS Kebon Jeruk from 2004-2007. It is a pleasure to be a part of the SIS team again. Each day I have had the privilege of working with an international team of teachers who come from diverse backgrounds covering many nationalities and cultures. I am proud and excited to work for a school which lives and breathes its Mission Statement and Core Values, and actively encourages wellness, balance, and dedicated service. At SIS-PIK, I feel I am valued, supported, and inspired by my colleagues, school community, and Head of School. The objectives, approach and motto of SIS-PIK represent so well what I like, what I support and have tried to promote wherever I have come together with other people. Having experienced great satisfaction in educating young people in reaching the next levels of their personal development, I am very happy to take part in the journey and to deliver my personal contribution to the success of SIS-PIK.
I am passionate about giving every child an opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. I believe that every child is a unique individual who comes to school with a desire to learn and share their knowledge with one another.
I have a real passion for Maths, in particular developing problem-solving and reasoning skills. I also like to build an ‘oracy’ classroom where children can find their voice and speak confidently in a variety of contexts. I have a passion for dancing, dance choreography, cheer leading and writing, having published a Mathematics textbook used by schools throughout the Philippines.

Zhao Xiaoyun (Ms Zhao) – Primary Chinese Teacher
Ms Zhao is a dedicated and patient Chinese teacher who was born and grew up in China. She was awarded her Bachelor’s degree from Jiangxi Science & Technology Normal University and had been a primary teacher in Nanchang New Oriental Language School for five years. During her work there, she took K12 basic skill tests of English proficiency, as well as language teaching and achieved the top 10.1% mark in 2020 and top 4% in 2021. She believes that education is vital for the formation of character. She believes education is not only just teaching knowledge, but also the way we treat everyone and everything.
In her spare time, she likes reading books and watching documentaries, especially those about history. She is also interested in films and travelling.

Mr Ayyaz Nazir – High School Teacher of Business & Enterprise

Since his interest revolves around the world of entrepreneurship and empirical research, his area is very agile in business fields stretching from finance, economics, operations, sales & marketing, branding and leadership. His teaching is focused on evidence-based, leadership practices and key issues businesses face in their quest for effective and strategic business operations.
