PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (PD) DAY (TEACHER CHAMPIONS)
Teaching is a challenging but extremely rewarding profession. At SIS-PIK we believe fervently in taking care of our teachers’ wellbeing and ensuring that all teachers are engaged in the most effective teacher training. We know that highly skilled, happy teachers create the most effective and positive learning environments, resulting in world-class outcomes for students.
On Friday 14th October, our teachers, once again engaged in up-to-date research from the world’s leading educational research organisations. We believe in an evidence-based approach to education and consistently reviewing and reflecting on our methods of teaching.
Our High School PD day focused on:
- Effective use of technology to synthesise information;
- Metacognition – how we help students to take control of their own learning.
Our PD was led by our SIS-PIK team of ‘Teacher Champions’ from our teaching community, who work to identify our school’s current training needs, engage in research and provide high quality, practice-based training programmes for all of our teachers.
