DR DAN’S DIARY

Dear SIS-PIK Families,
I am delighted to share with you the incredible happenings at our school in September. It has been a month filled with inspiring activities that truly embody the spirit of SIS-PIK.
One of the highlights was the SIS-PIK Cup, a week-long event entirely organised by our Grade 12 students. This showcased the exceptional leadership opportunities available at our school. These students not only organised schedules and competitions, but also took on the responsibility of writing risk assessments, translating legal documents, and managing sponsorships and fundraising efforts. Their dedication and commitment were truly remarkable. It is these skills that set students apart when they apply to the world’s top universities. They can do so much more than talk about their impressive abilities, they can demonstrate when they have put their capabilities into practice in very meaningful ways.
Another heartwarming event was the Mid-Autumn Festival, which brought together our entire SIS-PIK community, including families, students, and staff. It was a joyous celebration of togetherness and cultural diversity as we watched the sun set and the moon rise, joining together to eat traditional mooncake.
Our prefect body has also warmed hearts by turning Teachers’ Day into Teachers’ Month this year! Each Monday, they have surprised our teachers with small tokens of appreciation on behalf of the student body. Their warmth and thoughtfulness exemplify the values we hold dear at SIS-PIK.
You can read in more detail about what a packed September we have had in this edition of the Community Showcase, and read about what is to come in an exciting October!
Wishing you all a healthy and happy term break,
Dr Dan
