SIS-PIK CUP 2023
Last week, over 30 schools from all around the JABODETABEK area joined us at SIS-PIK to take part in the SIS-PIK Cup: Skyward, organised and led by our Grade 12 students as part of the IBDP. Our young leaders have demonstrated their dedication to reaching “Towards Greater Heights”, making us immensely proud.
This eight day event was opened by a dramatic entrance by our Head of School, Dr Daniel Hyde as he cycled through the audience followed by a flurry of school flags. For non-attendees, you have missed out on the ground-shaking performance by our talented primary school students who joined in on the fun. It left the audience with such a high expectation for the closing and the SIS-PIK Cup crew didn’t disappoint. The final day started with an awarding ceremony to honour the champions, awarded by one of Indonesia’s national basketball athletes — Jamarr Johnson. In a change to the typically arduous ceremonies, we called forth some of everyone’s favourite basketball participants for a 3v3 with Jamarr himself. To end the day, the team invited the up-and-coming band, Reality Club, who gave a booming performance, sure to have been enjoyed by the attendees and all our neighbours alike!
Throughout the week, we have witnessed plenty of loss, triumphs, and most importantly, the skyward journey that everyone has set their wings towards. They have shown that the sky is not our limit; it is our canvas for creativity, our arena for ambition, and our inspiration to ascend towards greater heights.
Congratulations to all of our participants and committee members on this remarkable journey, and may your spirits continue to soar skyward in all your future endeavours. The SIS-PIK Cup was not just about competition, but the people in it and their tales, which have become a part of SIS-PIK’s history, and their stories will inspire generations to come.
