WORLD BOOK DAY

Preschool & Primary
SIS-PIK marked World Book Day with a fun-filled day of literary activities for Preschool and Primary. The morning launched with students dressed as their favourite book characters, as part of a level-based costume competition. This was followed by a school-wide book sharing session where selected students presented books that inspired them, themed around “Dive Into Books, Explore New Worlds.” During the second period, classes enjoyed a Book Quest Bingo game featuring book-themed vocabulary. The day wrapped up with grade-level English activities – Lower Primary students crafted and decorated their own bookmarks, while Upper Primary teams went head-to-head in a Group Quiz Bee testing their knowledge of books. It was a wonderful celebration of reading and imagination.

High School
The High School celebrated World Book week beginning with a Monday morning assembly. The centerpieces of the assembly were intense poetry readings and a very lively quiz that tested students’ knowledge of a wide variety of books and genres. The week was also scattered with smaller community-based activities including a book themed scavenger hunt in the library,  literary sketch contests and book readings in English Language and Literature classes. Through this, the English department hoped to highlight once again the value and importance of reading and books in our lives.
