New Teachers Introduction
As we begin the new academic year, we are delighted to introduce the talented educators who have joined the SIS-PIK family. Each brings expertise, passion, and dedication that will enrich our learning community.
In the High School, we warmly welcome Ms Leanne, our new Art and Creative Media teacher, who also takes on the role of Assistant Head of Year for Grade 7. She joins us after eight years of experience in leading international schools in China. In the Business and Enterprise faculty, we welcome Mr Dirk, who has taught for a number of years in Indonesia after leaving his home country of South Africa. May parents may still remember Ms Jaina, who is returning to SIS-PIK to teach English. Having been part of our team until 2020, we are thrilled to have her back. She will also be leading the World Scholar’s Cup. Ms Carizza, Mr Oliver, and Mr Jojo, will be building our Mathematics team in High School.
In the Preschool and Primary School, we are very pleased to welcome: Ms Nisa in Preschool, Mr Jerick as part of the Primary teaching team, Mr Zhang (Mr Jackson), bringing his expertise as our new Primary Chinese teacher and Ms Cherilyn, who is returning once again to SIS-PIK in Primary EMS. It is wonderful to have Ms Cherry back with us.
Across the Whole School, we are fortunate to add Mr Adam, our new Director of Sport. He comes with many years of teaching experience in China and will lead our sporting programme to new heights. Also joining the sports team is Mr Andohar (Mr Ando), who is a specialist coach in soccer and a very experienced PE teacher. In our religion department, teaching across the school and also being a Primary co-Form Tutor, Mr Vicky joins us to teach Buddhism.
Finally, we are delighted to introduce our ‘Student Support’ department. Joining Ms Levi (Emotional and Wellbeing Counsellor) and Ms Cilly (University Guidance) are three new experts: Mr Peter, our new English as an Additional Language (EAL) coordinator, who will oversee our commitment to ensuring all students thrive in their English acquisition and access to the curriculum; Mr Ferdinan (Mr Hiro), who will support Mr Peter in the EAL Department and serve as form teacher of Grade 10D. Fluent in Indonesian, English, Chinese, and Japanese, he brings a wealth of linguistic ability to his role, and; Ms Lia, who joins us from Singapore in an exciting an important new position for the school. She will serve both as an EMS teacher and our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), ensuring every child is supported and able to reach their full potential.
We are excited for the year ahead and confident that these new colleagues will inspire and support our students in their learning journeys. Please join us in extending a very warm welcome to all of them!
