DR DAN’S DIARY
Dear SIS-PIK Families,

October has been a truly memorable month for our students as they set off on their Learning Journeys – experiences that extend the classroom into the wider world and bring learning vividly to life.
From our very youngest learners to our oldest adventurers, every student at SIS-PIK took part in these journeys, discovering, questioning, and learning in new and exciting ways. Our Nursery students explored the wonders of technology right here at school by building their own robots, while our Kindergarten children experienced the magic of marine life during their trip to the Aquarium.
Primary students ventured into nature, learning about ecology and sustainability during their visits to Ecopark Ancol and Jakarta Bird Land, while others gained a fascinating insight into design and production during their tour of the Faber-Castell factory.
Meanwhile, our High School students journeyed farther afield — to Bandung, Solo, Yogyakarta, Mount Bromo, and Labuan Bajo — each destination offering opportunities to deepen their understanding of culture, geography, and teamwork. These experiences not only supported our academic goals but also strengthened friendships, resilience, and curiosity.
A huge thank you to all our teachers who planned and supervised these adventures with such care and enthusiasm. Their dedication ensures our students continue to learn in engaging, meaningful, and joyful ways.
This issue of the Community Showcase is full of wonderful stories, photos, and videos that capture the excitement and learning from these trips. We also fill you in on all the other wonderful events and successes this month. I hope you enjoy reliving the journeys through the eyes of our students – and celebrating the spirit of exploration that makes SIS-PIK such a special place to learn.
Warm regards,
Dr Dan
