COMING UP

October promises to be another busy and exciting month at SIS-PIK as we begin Term 2 on Monday 12 October. We look forward to welcoming our students back after the short break and continuing the strong start we have made to the academic year.

We begin the term with our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 October (1.30pm-3.40pm), providing an important opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss students’ progress and next steps. On 16 October, we will also formally welcome our new Student Council at their Investiture, celebrating the students who will take on leadership roles across our school community.

One of the highlights of the month will be our Preschool and Primary Learning Journeys from 19-23 October. This year, our Grades 1-6 experiences have a strong STEAM and sustainability focus, with students exploring topics such as composting, recycling, aquatic ecosystems, global warming and hands-on science. These journeys provide a great opportunity for students to take their learning beyond the classroom and put their knowledge into practice.

We invite parents to join our popular Community Conversations, on Tuesday 20th and 27th October. The focus of these weeks will be Grade 11 pathways and Semester Assessment preparation and report cards – helping students and families prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.

Finally, we will end October with some fun and creativity as we celebrate Hallowe’en on Friday 30 October. Preschool and Primary students will enjoy activities during the school day, while our High School students will have an evening event organised by our new Student Council.
