SCHOOL REOPENING IN JULY 2021
On July 19th 2021, we will open our hybrid program. This will include both face-to-face learning as well as our well established virtual learning program. Parents may choose to continue with the virtual learning program if it makes them feel more comfortable.
We will provide more updates on our reopening procedures in each Community Update. For this week, we want to share information regarding our academic program for next year.
From July 19th, you may choose to continue with our Virtual Learning Program, or our Hybrid Learning Program.
Our Virtual Learning Program will be identical to our current program. We will continue to provide a quality online learning experience for your child. Please note, our preschool program will remain online for the first term.

Our Hybrid teaching programme allows students to come to school for 3 hours each day for an in school experience, and then continue independent learning at home. It has been designed to ensure that we comply with all Government regulations. Our priority is to keep students safe at all times, and give them access to the best possible education whether from home or face-to-face in school. Our programme is designed to accommodate as many students who wish to come to school every day, whilst ensuring classes are kept very small, with physical distancing in place.
In P1 to Sec 3, the school day will be split into a morning and an afternoon session. If your child is virtual learning from home, live lessons will happen every morning, and the afternoon will be used for extension work and additional live meetings with teachers should a child need extra support. Children in P1 & P2, and Sec 1 and Sec 2 will have dedicated virtual learning teachers who will run lessons only to the students learning at home. This is similar to the system at present. In P3-6 and Sec 3-JC2, we are giving students a virtual classroom experience, by live-streaming lessons from SIS-PIK classrooms into your home. Students at home will be able to fully participate, ask questions and get quality feedback from teachers.
If your child is learning in school, they will be allocated one of the sessions, either morning or afternoon. Exactly the same lessons will be taught in the morning and afternoon. This will ensure classes are kept safe and small. During the session where they are not in school, they will be given extension work which will be checked by the teacher the next day.
We wish to maximise face-to-face teaching for our Secondary 4 and Junior College students. Therefore, if these students learn in school, they will have a full day on campus, with a short break for lunch. Students will need to bring their own lunch and snacks as we are not allowed to provide catering services at present.
If you decide that your child will begin the school year learning from home, they will be allowed to join the face-to-face programme in school when you decide the time is right. Please note that to ensure the quality of both programmes (both virtual and face-to-face learning), we cannot accommodate children changing between programmes on a day-by-day basis.
We will be continually reflecting on and reviewing our hybrid programme based on feedback and current government regulations, to ensure we are continually improving and giving your children the very best experience possible.
To help us plan for the new academic year, please complete the government mandated survey regarding your preference for either; Virtual Learning Program or Hybrid Learning Program
