PRIMARY PREFECTS LEADERSHIP TRAINING CAMP
On January 31, 2026, our school proudly hosted the Primary Prefect Leadership Camp, welcoming 41 young, enthusiastic, and energetic students. From the very beginning, the prefects arrived with excitement and a strong eagerness to participate in the day’s activities.
The programme commenced with short yet meaningful opening remarks by Ms Benilda, who reminded the prefects of the importance, purpose, and responsibility that come with their leadership roles. This was followed by a symbolic and memorable moment — the presentation of the Token of Trust and Collaboration, represented by an angklung. The angklung beautifully reflected the camp’s central message: while one angklung can produce a sound, only together can harmony be created. With 41 prefects, trust and collaboration are the foundations that transform many individuals into one united team.
Shortly thereafter, the prefects engaged in a variety of interactive and thought-provoking activities. The first challenge required students to “build a house” using only their arms while working in groups. This activity tested their listening skills, attentiveness, and ability to cooperate effectively.
The second activity involved students grouping themselves according to categories placed on their heads — without speaking. This creative task encouraged resourcefulness, observation, and non-verbal communication, while highlighting the importance of teamwork and adaptability.
Next came the lively Bingo game. Each participant selected a Bingo pattern and sought out peers who could answer the questions in their boxes. This activity aimed to foster connections, deepen understanding, and promote camaraderie. As leaders and teammates, knowing and understanding one another is essential to building a strong and supportive community.
The entire group then moved to the MPAH for more comprehensive and challenging tasks. Activities four through six were conducted simultaneously among the groups.
One group participated in the Passing the Ball challenge, where members used only two sticks to transfer a ball from start to finish without letting it touch the ground. This activity emphasised teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking.
Another group tackled the Memory Game – Minefield, where students navigated a maze without stepping on hidden “bombs.” Success required sharp memory, careful observation, and learning from previous attempts — reinforcing the value of focus and resilience.
The final activity, Watermelon Target, tested strength, agility, persistence, and problem-solving. Each participant aimed to hit a watermelon using a card, ensuring the card remained attached without falling. The challenge inspired creativity, determination, and perseverance.
By the end of the camp, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, smiles, and animated conversations. The prefects not only enjoyed a day of meaningful learning and fun but also formed new friendships and strengthened their sense of teamwork.
The camp was truly a memorable experience for everyone involved. We wish our Primary Prefects all the best as they continue their leadership journey. May they carry forward the values of trust, collaboration, and responsibility, and serve as positive role models for all primary students.
