Dear SIS-PIK Families,
Recently, I read a thought-provoking article in the newsletter of the Council of International Schools. A school leader questioned whether international education should be offered to local students, suggesting that if most students are from the host country, then perhaps these schools are no longer truly “international”….


Student Achievements and Competitions
This January, Grade 11 and 12 Film students from the IB Film and BTEC Creative Media programmes took part in the biggest international student film competition across Asia: Babel 48. Led by our film teachers, Mr Valantis and Ms Leanne, the student teams fully conceived and produced three films, 3-minutes each, within a 48-hour time period. The productions were held on both the SIS-PIK campus and PIK 2 Batavia locations.

Chinese New Year Celebration
On 28 February, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, SIS-PIK proudly hosted the 2026 Chinese New Year Celebration on campus under the theme “Striving Forward, Galloping to Success”. The event aimed to strengthen community bonds, promote Chinese cultural traditions, and showcase students’ talents…

Production House Field Trip

BTEC Creative Media and IB Film students recently went behind the scenes at Temata Studios for an hands-on industry workshop.The session focused on two components: scriptwriting and shooting. By working alongside industry pros, students bridged the gap between classroom theory and real-world execution, gaining vital experience for their future film and media portfolios…
Coming Up
April promises to be a vibrant and inspiring month at SIS-PIK, filled with academic milestones, creativity, and community engagement.
We begin with Parent – Teacher Conferences on 7th and 9th April from 1.30pm, an important opportunity to discuss student progress and next steps.
From 13th – 17th April, our whole school will take part in our annual STEAM Festival – a celebration of resourcefulness and innovation, as students collaborate to solve real-world challenges linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We are also delighted to welcome visiting students from Trinity International School for a cultural exchange during this exciting week.
